Get Involved in Your Membership

One of the best ways to maximize a Chamber membership is to volunteer to serve on one of the organization’s various committees. It not only helps members stay informed on issues critical to their business – it also contributes to the success and impact of the Detroit Regional Chamber and business community at large. It can also be a great way to network. Based on experience and expertise, Chamber members have the opportunity to join committees within the organization and share perspective and insight on key issues impacting the organization. These include the Advocacy Advisory Council, Ambassador Committee, Energy and Environment Committee, Public Relations and Marketing Committee, and the Tax Policy Committee. Please note that some committees have specific requirements, time commitments, and size limitations. If you are interested in joining a Chamber committee, please contact our team below.

Advocacy Advisory Council

  • The Advocacy Advisory Council is designed to provide members with an opportunity to receive updates directly from our Government Relations team on issues impacting the business community, hear from guest speakers and leaders in the community, and provide valuable feedback to our team on policy and other issues at the local, state, and national level.
  • The council meets quarterly, and participants may be contacted for real-time feedback as issues arise throughout the year. This committee is an exclusive opportunity for Elite members.

Ambassador Committee

  • Ambassadors assist members by introducing them to benefits and services offered at the Chamber and serve as mentors to help them get the most out of their membership.
  • Ambassadors must be an active Chamber member for at least one year, participate in events throughout the year, and must be comfortable in social settings with existing, new, and potential members.

Energy & Environment Committee

  • The Energy & Environment Committee examines environmental and energy regulations for air, land, and water at the state and federal level.
  • Participants meet quarterly and must work in the energy, utility, environment, or regulatory fields.
